In this course you are going to learn the practice of Metta, generally translated Loving-Kindness. It will help you have a better relationship with yourself and with people around you.Life is difficult, there is no denying of that; and a gentle heartwarming hug from ourselves to ourselves is most-likely the thing we need to survive suffering. But Metta isn't only about loving oneself, it is also about recognizing that you and others ultimately had no choice in becoming who you are, and thus forgiving ourselves for what we think is wrong with us.You might think about Metta as the practice of rewiring you brain so that instead of getting sucked in hatred to oneself or others in certain hardships or general life situations, you recognize and respond with love and compassion. Ultimately, Metta is not about suppressing your anger, it is about recognizing anger or other negative emotions as patterns of energy in your body. Escaping negative emotions is unnecessary, welcoming them through Metta and Mindfulness is a better idea. General mental health and relationships can benefit greatly from the combination of Metta and Mindfulness meditation.Welcome aboard to you all, and please enjoy every bit of the course.
