This book focuses on the dynamics of democracy and populism in Muslim-majority countries, such as Turkey and Indonesia. Populist actors have constructed a religious-civilizational framework that leverages political binaries, manipulates insecurities, and fosters traditional anti-elite and anti-'other' sentiments.
